Will battlefield 3 run on a 550ti

At your resolution it should be fine.

I think as long as you keep it to lower resolutions... you should be okay. You probably can't play it on highest settings though.

eh i don't know about extreme but you should be able to do it on Ultra with low AA

You should be fine considering your res. Are you playing on a monitor from the early 90's or are you just blind enough not to see the wonderful eye-candy that is on a res of 1920x1080?

You will easily max out bf3 at that resolution.. i have the same card on 1360x768 and i had 40+ fps.. with AA.

My 550ti could only get under 50fps when it was overclocked to 1.045ghz during the beta at 1600x900 res.

LongpastPNR, you're trolling. My cousin recently purchased a rig for 460 euros, and it had GTX 550 Ti in it. He plays BF3 on high @ 1680x1050 with around 45-55 fps. I saw it with my own eyes. Don't confuse people if you have no idea what you're talking about!

Read thread again, he has it. And his resolution is 56% less than 1680x1050, so it will definitely handle BF3 on ultra.

Also, even if it couldn't run on ultra, he would still be able to run it on high at very nice performance, so your logic still fails. Not running on ultra != not running at all!

Given the original post, he already has the 550 and wants to know if he is wasting his money buying BF3 if the card cant handle it. The answer is yes, the card will work just fine at that res. When you upgrade the monitor much, if it all, then you may want to upgrade.

No it's a low end card with a mid range price because 6790 is a mid range card cost the same and beast the 550ti

6790 is only 5-10% faster than 550 ti. That doesn't place it in another category.

Low end cards of geforce 500 series are GT 520, GT 530 and GT 545. Mid range are GTX 550 Ti and GTX 560. GTX 560 Ti and GTX 570 are high-mid, and GTX 580 and GTX 590 are considered high end cards.
