I have recently bought the GTX 550 to replace my GT240 1GB.
For some reason the GPU temperature gets at a fast rate hot, but the game (Skyrim,MW3) keeps runing at 60/70 fps.
But when it reached 82c the GPU starts to make allot of noise.
So is it normal for a 4 days old GTX 550 TI to be 82c in like 15 minutes.
I have asked this question before, but never really have got an answer for it :s
So is 82c degrees safe for the GTX 550 TI, because I mean yes the game runs good but I do not think that ''frying'' a new GPU like that is good, unless the GPU is made for these kind of circumstances.

It's fine, turn up the fan speed or increase the airflow in your ase, if you want it cooler

GPUs usually run hot.

As geekapproved said you can keep it cooler by improving the air flow, or by getting a new case.

So you mean that I just can keep playing at 82c (because the game itself remains playable)

#1 Get a new case which has rear fan and front fan or add additional fan to your case .
