I5 2400 to 3570k

i currently own a 670, i5 2400 z77 system. i want to sli and wondering if switching to an i5 3570k will be useful or not?

Well overclocking will help in games quite a bit, go for it, remember to get a adequate heatsink for overclocking.

Going from an i5 2400 to an overclocked i5 3570K is not much of a difference in performance. Unless you can offload the i5 2400 I'd keep it.

i'll test and find out if it can handle the sli or i'll offload to buy the 3570k. thnx nyways for the replies

When gaming most of the performance is coming from the video card. With the GTX 670 you are in good shape with that so the question is how much of a performance boost are you going to get with buy going a with a processor that is that 1GHz faster. I would think that you are wouldnt find it worth the money to move up to the Intel Core i5-3570K at this time.

No, it won't be useful, an i5-2400 is sufficient to keep up with Sli 670s. Although, if you're playing at 1080p, I don't see why you need a 2nd 670. What resolution are you playing at or wanting to play at?

1080p. its just the fps drops and stuttering that i experience wen i m playing games like bf3, crysis that annoys me. I thought maybe sli'ing would resolve these issues

Crysis should not be stuttering at all, BF3 might depending on the server your on and/or your internet connection. I'd wonder if something else is going on, driver issues, etc. But the i5-2400 should still be adequate on the CPU side of things for both games.
