Gaming system around 1000$

Hello, Currently I'm trying to get a gaming system around 900-1000$ (the cheaper the better) and so far i came up with this.

Change i7-2600K to i5-3570K
Change ASRock Z68 Extreme3 to Z77 Extreme 4 (and buy it with combo from microcenter, not newegg)
Buy a better video card (hd 7850?) with savings, or put the savings in the bank?

if you want nividia sli, you can go with a gigabyte z77x-ud3h or a msi z77a-gd55 but they both will add 20 bucks to your build. (this board only supports crossfire)
