PSU:Corsair CMPSU-600CXV2UK Builder Series 600W Power Supply

Would a 600W PSU be able to handle a GTX 660TI (i wont be overclocking it) and a i5 2500k (I will overclock it in the future to around 4.0ghz - 4.5ghz)

Yes you will be o.k. 660 Ti - On your average system the card requires you to have a 450~500 Watt power supply unit. Measured power consumption

System in IDLE = 132 W
System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 258 W
Difference (GPU load) = 126 W
Add average IDLE wattage ~10 W
Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 136 Watts

Ok, thanks very much for your help guys, much appreciated :)

final question: would you say it's worth spending the extra money on a gtx 660ti as opposed to a 7870?

thanks again :)

Depends what games you intend to play and what monitor res i can't tell you if something is worth it only you can decide that i can give you my opinion if that's what your asking and my opinion you should read the many different professional reliable reviews then decide if the better performance worth $50.00 more or not hope that helps

other sites then TH consistently have the GTX 660 Ti beating a 7950 at 1920 resolution.

Quote:
"As it stands, AMD’s position correctly reflects their performance; the GTX 660 Ti is a solid and relatively consistent 10-15% faster than the 7870, while the 7950 is anywhere between a bit faster to a bit slower depending on what benchmarks you favor. Of course when talking about the 7950 the “anything but equal” maxim still applies here, if not more so than with the GTX 670. The GTX 660 Ti is anywhere 50% ahead of the 7950 and 25% behind it, and everywhere in between."
