Hello
I have made an impulse purchase. Again. Fortunately only $30.
I bought a phenom x3 B73.

I have a 2007-8 vintage HP pavilion with a Narra3 Mobo running vista and
an athlon 2. No OC ability.

I have a homebuilt with an Phenom 945 with an asus mobo m4A88T-M LE (880G).
4GB Gskill F3-12800CL9, XFX 6670 (no OC ((yet))).

I have use the asus auto overclocker with stock cooler.
CPU currently running at .992 V core; 800 M core speed.
DRAM 800 MHz; 9,9,9,28; NB Freqq 2000 Mhz.

I am trying to assess what the best use to place the CPUs. Here is my rough
priorities
1. Gaming performance on Homebuilt
2. Sound levels
3. Less stress on 945.

I was able to boot the HP with the 945 last year.

I thinking to install the B73 in the homebuilt, hope the 4th core unlocks and see similar performance
as the 945. Wiling to overclock harder. Then run the 945 on the HP.

Does this make sense? Should I try overclocking the 945 more to see what
the capability of the MOBO chip/power/Memory is to see if its worth the trouble?

Or just stick the B73 in the HP because the 945 is so much better/ higher
potential than the B73?

Thanks!
