New Build. Compatible? Advice?

Hey i was wandering if these parts would be ideal for a first time builder. Also any tips and reccomendations for a first timer would be greatly appreciated. My budget is about 1300$ max. im looking to play games like battlefield 3 in 1920x1080 all settings maxed out. In addition im a little skeptical about my mobos brand name? any advice? :) also are all of these parts compatible?

CPU: i5 2500k

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium OEM (Also im a little curios about this OEM title. Is it actually the operating system lol?)

Can't really give a good recommendation for the Biostar nor could I really give a bad one, always been a gigabyte or asus fan for Mother boards. Other than that looks like a solid build. Only suggestion is for the SSD, if your going with the Vertex 3 make sure you get the Max IOPs for stability, cost just a little more but worth it.

Wait uhh what do you mean by iops lol? also can you reccomend a gigabyte and/or asus equivalaent in price rang and compatibility to this mobo. Also any case reccomendations for first time builders will be appreciated
