Hd 6850 psu requirement

I'm going to buy a HD 6850.i dont know its power requirements.so is 500W psu is good enough?

plus i dont know anything about 12 rails and blah blah blah..so plz tell me is

650W cost about the same as 500W so you have to look at the efficency, too. Most PSU are efficient at 20 to 80 % load. The lower the load the less heat and longer life of your PSU. So Better to get 650W than 500W...I'm not sure about XFX brand.

109W is the GPU only not the whole system. Average system drains about 400W

OP's system should be considered lower than average ( no offence OP )
The specs in his post will have a hard time draining 250 watts, when running a power virus like Furmark. With a good quality 500 watt psu he'd be well under a 50% load when doing ,,,,,, pretty much anything other than running power viruses.

If you already have that PSU you should be fine. No need to upgrade.

If you are buying a PSU however $65 shipped seems like way to much money for a basic/q 500W PSU. This would be a much better choice. Could even run the 6870 if you wanted to.
