More about builds deciding
  1. if its a new build look at GTX 680/670/690 instead of the 580.. more performance, less power and heat.

x79 vs z77 and sandy vs Sandy E and you left out IVY?

for a new Gaming build, I would go with Z77 and Ivy (i7 3770K) for the PCIe 3.0 in conjuction with the GTX 690/680/670 GPU's and there isn't much of a price premium over Sandy. Sandy-E is just too much $ for gaming with no real return.
  2. I agree with jerreddredd. I would have just thumbs up his post but I cant seem to find the button to do that.... anyway, yes go with the Ivy Bridge
