Cheap capable server?

Hi everyone, I've been doing research on hardware we need around our small office. We're running a MySQL app that will suck up processor and RAM. It doesn't need a server OS, it runs just fine on XP w/ a P4 at the moment.

I found this Fujitsu server on Tiger Direct. Do you see any reason why it wouldn't be able to run 7 or XP and have to run a server based OS? And am I crazy in thinking that $299 for an I3 with this build and no OS is quite cheap?

Just read through the manual, and the MOBO actually supports i7-Quads for future upgrades if necessary, and up to 32 GB of RAM. Could this be a cheap sleeper CAD machine too?
