Looking to build a $500 non-gaming system

Just looking to build a new system because the one I have now is dead. I have a new laptop, but nothing quite comes close to the usefulness of a desktop sometimes. Im also not sure if a prebuilt system would be cheaper? Thanks for the help.


Approximate Purchase Date: Within a month and a half

Budget Range: No more than $500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: P2P, word/spreadsheet, watching movies, internet browsing, occasional game such as Quake live, possibly some other games.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, hard drives, PSU, speakers, monitor.

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: Prefer Intel, simply because that is what I have been using since I was old enough

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 i believe

Additional Comments: I have dual monitors, one is dvi and one is vga, 22" and 24" so the video card will need to be able to support both monitors. They are not both used every single minute, but only when I need the space.

you ill be runing on intergrated gaphics. it will do for most tasks and some light games. it will not stand up to bf3 or anything intense.

yes it will let you do that. i guess you can save some money by using a asrock z77 extreme4
