I got a new Kingston Media Card Reader USB 3.0; I attached this to my front USB 3.0 and the read speed is a painful 31 kbs to 50 kbs; I attached it to my rear USB 3.0 port and the speed remains the more of less the same.
I have about 571 MB (pic files to down load) its a CF card - Lexar Professional UDMA 4GB 300 x Speed card.
My desktop specs:
Windows 7 64 bit OS
16 GB RAM
Intel Core i7 2700K
OZC Solid 3 120 GB SSD
ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 - motherboard
This mother board has two USB 3.0 ports in the back and it also has 2 front USB 3.0 panel.
To test if my port were bad, I took the Kingston reader to work, and tested it on a USB 2.0 port and the pictures were downloaded at close to 30 - 35 MB/ sec.
I brought it back home and tested it again, the read speed comes at this time came 90 kbs to 101 kbs in both front and rear USB 3.0 ports.
Then I tried the reader on USB 2.0 ports, it read at 30 -35 MB/sec.
Is my USB 3.0 ports defective or is it the Kingston reader thats bad.
How do I confirm this, please let me know.
