Once I open my computer and get to the desktop my mouse starts freezing for a few seconds then starts moving again it also randomly disconnects as well. The only way for it start working again after it disconnetcs is to replug the mouse in. I'm completely clueless when it comes to computer's so it'd help if you dumb down the explanations. :p

Mouse is usb.
Computer: Inspiron 546
Graphics card: ati radeon hd 3200 graphics

Try moving the wire about and see if it disconnects in a certain position.

It disconnects no matter where I put it. Oh and when it disconnects it says "your computer does not recognize the usb".

Either
1) Your usb port is damaged
or 2) Your usb port is loose - Try connecting the mouse in another port
or 3) You need to re install your mouse driver.
Hope I helped. :D

Err, all of a sudden one of my usb ports doesn't work. I see the light emitting from the mouse but the cursor won't move, but when I plug it in the second usb port it moves but still disconnects and freezes.

Would you mind explaining how to re install my mouse driver. (tech noob/moron) :p

Oh and if my usb port is damaged how much $ would it take to repair it?
