Hey , i would just like some advise.

Im running a E8400 cpu with a Geforce GTX590X2 4 gig ddr3 ram.
Im Getting 80 - 140 frames in CS GO.

My friend Have a Geforce GTX 285 with a AMD Pheno 2 x4 965 cpu.
He is getting 120 - 200 frames .

Both running windows 7

How can that be ?

Plz give me advise , Can cpu really make so big diffrence ?

Running a GTX 590 with a C2D CPU? That's a really tough joke.
GTX 590 is 3 GB not 4 GB, 1.5 GB shared between each GPU it has.

Of course the CPU is the limiting factor here, it's like that the GPU is working faster and the CPU can't catch up with, and in lower resolutions most of the work is done by the CPU. A Quad core CPU is perfect solution for gaming.

Hmmmm your getting over 60FPS, there isn't a problem :kaola:  As ilysaml mentioned your CPU is the bottleneck, maybe OC it a bit and maybe you will gain 10 more frames idk hahaha. Or do what Ilysaml mentioned buy a quad core. Happy Gaming :na:

It doesn't matter...the top end quad core CPUs get bottlenecked by higher end GPUs. your dual core CPU is the problem there.
However, you don't need more than 60 FPS to enjoy a very smooth gameplay unless you have a 3D monitor.
