I'm considering building my own pc for video editing as well as gaming. I'd like to keep the price at or under 1000. If anyone could help out it would be greatly appreciated. This would be my first build. Thanks

Approximate Purchase Date: (within a month)

Budget Range: ( 800-1000)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (HD Video editing <AVCHD Format>, Gaming)

Parts Not Required: ( keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: (Any site is fine if it is reliable)

Country: ( USA)

Parts Preferences: by brand or type (I would prefer an Intel processor)

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: Unsure

Additional Comments: (I want a nice looking case as well as a computer that will be easy to update down the road)

1: get ivy bridge i5 3570k because it has more perfomance although you will benefit from getting a i7
2: get faster memory. 1333 and 1600hz memory has about 10-20% performance ncrease and since you are video editig, you should go with 1600mhz
3. might want to get a gtx560 because its only 20 bucks more and has much ore performance
4: 750w is overkill for your uses. you can live with 550w
5: if its an ivy bridge build, go get a z77 board such as the extreme4
