Hello, as the title states, I need some help picking a CPU. I am on a $700 budget and I have picked a case, psu, and RAM. However, the graphics card depends on what mobo and cpu I get. So for the Intel side I have chosen the 2500k and for the AMD side I was leaning towards the 4100. I know the difference is great but if I choose Intel I can only get a 550ti, if I choose AMD I can get a 7870. Of course I can upgrade in the future, but if I get a 7870 I can upgrade to an ssd and not waste time upgrading the 550ti first. Sorry for the long message thanks in advance! (No fan boys please!)

Well, if u are into pure gaming purpose, get the intel CPU. In the gaming dept, the intel i3s and i5s outperform the AMDs migtiest 8150 source:tomshardware its like as if amd havnt produced anything against intels i5 and i7. and in the dept of future proofing, say, ur current CPU is AMD and u wish to upgrade to intel, then u need to change the motherboard also to occupy intel. for 3-4 years u wont need to change anything if u go for an i5 CPU with a radeon HD 7870. So my suggestion to you is to get an i5 CPU(better get a 3rd gen CPU like 3550) and get the HD 7870 buy saving some money.
