The screen goes off but the laptop stays on

Hello,
at times my screen blinks and screen goes off but my laptop stays on as i can still hear the fans working. what i do it shut the screen and it goes to sleep mode. i pull the screen up, and it works fine but in 5 minutes again it happens. i restart 2-3 times and i get lucky! it blinks a bit but doesnt turn off then!

i own a HP tablet
AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core Mobile ZM-82 2,20 GHz
3 GB RAM
32 bit OS

Here is a similar forum on Microsoft's site. Have you looked through the response for this? Which OS specifically do you have. I have seen problems with both Windows XP and Vista 32 bit versions and putting them to sleep.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's just 1 of a few problems with the TX25xx tablets
I have RM-70 2.0 / 3 Gb ram / Win7 32 bit
Video drops out
Wireless connection drops out
Overheats
Was a recall, missed it.
Been lucky, it's been running for almost 2 days straight without a problem, probably just jinxed myself again.

ah missed the part where he said it was a tablet. in the top he is referring to it as a laptop.
