VPN suddenly stops working and then I cannot apply IKE Policy: “Loading Conf Fai

Recently purchased a netgear SRX5308 firewall/router/vpn to replace an FVX538 that somehow manages to "lose" its configuration settings, however, now after a month or so the SRX seems to be experiencing the same issue. The fix seems to be to export the configuration, delete it, hard reboot, and then re-add the exported config. It will then operate fine for a little while until someone would inform me it was failing again. We are using RADIUS for authentication.
