im using a Viewsonic 19inch G90fB , 1280x1024 @ 75hz (maybe 85... dont remember... havent played witht hat setting in a year or so :p )
that's a CRT screen.

but planning on replacing my big CRT monitor with 2 Viewsonic VX922, LCD 19inch.
2ms refresh. best screen on the market ( 19inch )

Hey, I've got an idea:
Why don't we turn this into yet another CRT vs LCD thread. No offense, battousai831, but this topic has been covered in numerous threads, look around in the hardware section for it. Why not go to the store, see both in action, and then make up your mind on your own empirical analysis?

I'd get a 19" CRT. Will allow bigger resolutions for your desktop without sacrificing framerates or image quality when gaming. Also cheaper.

LCDs are good for games, but CRTs are better because you will not have any ghosting effects or worse dead pxiels. But CRTs are big compared to LCDs.

Try to a "short neck" 19" monitor if you can. Sorry, I haven't kept up with CRTs since my old 19" Viewsonic PS790 is still doing it's job. I also have a 19" LCD. 19" monitors are kind of deep, around 18" deep (more or less) and can take up a lot of deskspace. A "short neck" CRT like my 19" PS790 is not as deep, maybe about 3" shorter than the standard 19" CRT. 3" may not seem a lot, but it can make a difference between having the monitor at a comfortable distance from your eyes, and in your face.

LCDs are great if you don't have much deskspace. Overall, they are very good, but if it's games you want then go for a CRT.
