Hi I`m building a computer for the first time and i was wondering if a gtx 570 and intel i5 3570k would cause a bottleneck?

No it will be fine. Even though it's technically a generation behind it's still a high-end video card and won't cause bottlenecks with the I5 Sandy Bridges or Ivy Bridges.
  2. Is there a reason you're buying an older gen GTX 570 as suppose to a new 600/7000 series graphics card?
  3. Mainly because of the price range and I'm scared of bottlenecking my system since I'm a newb. If I could get some suggestions for current video cards that won't bottleneck with that CPU I'm all ears.
  4. Nothing will bottleneck.

The most "optimal" card though would be the GTX 670.
  5. nope, i run a gtx 570 at 15% OC and i5 3570 at a 35% oc with a corsair h60 and everything runs great. this is sort of irrelevant but your build should include a 120/128gb ssd for the os because its 2012 and ssds are awesome, i recommend the ocz vertex 4/samsung 830 series/intel 520 series, intel is the best but most expensive, ocz is great and good priced and the samsung is a bit cheaper than the ocz.
  6. That's good to know, thanks alot for the help!
  7. How much is the 570 you are getting?
  8. No modern single graphics card solution will bottleneck an i5 3570k.
  9. As I said neither the GTX 570 or 670 will bottleneck an Ivy Bridge I5 or I7. I would go with a GTX 670. The 670 is a smaller chip that runs cooler and is more power effcient than the previous generation Fermi micro-architecture.
  10. Listen to what rds1220 said. He knows his stuff.

Seeing that the GTX 570 is $250-300 on newegg right now, and assuming that is your price range for a graphics card, I would recommend a Radeon 7870 or a GTX 660 Ti.
