  1. That looks really good but are you sure you'll be able to reuse that Alienware hardware? Most Dell anything has proprietary form factors that make upgrading difficult or near impossible in some cases. That PSU might not work with a standard ATX board.

Good question. Maybe someone can answer that for me. I think the case may be pre-Dell to be honest. The Alienware wasn't actually owned by me, I just bought the case.

You'll definitely need a new PSU then but the case - I'd have to know the dimensions of it or see a picture to be able to determine if it can support that board.

I'm sorry, I got confused, according to my friend it isn't Alienware, but the model name is Area 51. Heh, sorry, the details on that was a little hazy cause I don't actually have it in my hands yet. I'm buying the case from him when I get the parts in.

Obviously I'm kind of a noob at this. But don't worry, I have his close supervision haha...

That should work fine - but you'll definitely need a good PSU to run that rig, a 700W unrated one won't cut it, you'll need at least 650W certified and rated 80+ bronze or better to run the latest GPUs.

    Cool! Got one to recommend?

I use the 950W variant of this model and it's awesome: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703027
