I'm trying to decide between a Z585 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246619) or a Z580 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246494).

I need a cost effective replacement for my desktop while I'm overseas for an unpaid internship. I'll be doing a bit of gaming on it, but I know I won't get much for these builds.

What I'm wondering though is which one seems better spec wise?

Thanks in advance!

They are two different processors. The A8 is a processor built for a mobile laptop socket. The 3210 is a desktop CPU for a desktop 1155 socket. If you wanted to go with AMD you would need to get a desktop APU. I would go with an I3 and an entry level gaming video card (if that's what you want to do.)

depending on which 630m is in the intel system, it can either be slightly better or slightly worse at gaming than the AMD system. The benchmarks on notebookcheck for the AMD APUs are ran with single channel ram which greatly reduces performance, laptops with 2 sticks of ram will perform much much better.

I'd say either laptop should be good, they don't really offer much difference in performance.
