Is the Phenom II x4 965 still a reputable CPU?

I've been picking out parts for my build for about a month now, and I just recently dropped the i5 for the Phenom II x4 because of budget reasons. I was just wondering if the Phenom is still a good CPU for gaming. I'll be running an HD 7770 along with it.

Yes it's still a good gaming CPU, I would, and have taken a 965BE over a Bulldozer anyday. Despite being "older" the Phenom II 965 will out perform Bulldozer in most games.
