Hi, I was wondering which is the best Card ( or the last card ) that doesn't require direct power support and also is PCIe 1.0 x 16. i'm currently using a 430 gt. radeon or Nvidia, i don't mind which.

ATI/AMD Radeon HD 6670. It's leaps and bounds better than anything nvidia makes at both the price point and in terms of performance without add in PCIe 6-pin power connections.

They offer it in both GDDR3 and GDDR5 versions. If you have a fairly modern dual core or better CPU and can swing the extra dought then go for the GDDR5 version which is actually a good margin faster than the GDDR3 version.

I like this Sapphire Unit with GDDR5 for $85

But this GDDR3 unit at $55 after rebates is also pretty darn tempting for $30 less...
