Hi guys, first post, be gentle!

Trying to put one of these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004K8R8DA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Into a Dell T7400 Workstation which only has one of these 6 pin connectors for the graphics card:

I believe the Asus card needs 2 x 6 pin power inputs.

Question is do I simply need a splitter that goes from 1 x 6pin molex to 2 x 6 molex or is it more complex than that? Does anyone know the exact product needed? Or will the card run on 1 x 6 pin molex?

The card would be replacing an Nvidia Quadro FX4600 which uses 1 x 6 pin molex as found in the tower, planning on using the tower just for gaming hence the gaming card.

Thanks

Check your particular item, but if it's new the vast majority of cards come with a dual molex to six pin connector. All you need is two free molex connectors and you'll be fine.

Won a used but as new 560Ti from ebay for £140. Guy says it comes with a splitter cable in the box so sounds like should be fine. Just hope it's the same 6 pin connector on the single end of the extra cable.

T7400's is PSU is a mahoosive 1000W so shouldn't be a problem juicing the new bad boy up.

OK so got the graphics card and sure enough the cable supplied with it doesn't do the job, it has 1x6 pin molex male one end, and 2 x 3 pin flat connectors which don fit anywhere in my PC as far as I can see. No free connectors hanging and can't see any on the motherboard.

My PC has 1 x 6 pin molex male connector

The card has 2 x 6 pin molex female connector

Will the card run from 1 x 6 pin or do I have to get a 1 x 6 female to 2 x 6 pin male splitter cable?

On further search I found a spare connector on middle of the wire that supplies the floppy drive that fits the flat 3 pin (well, its a 4 with 3 wires). Guessing it's ok to use this without detaching the floppy? Seems like I'm good to go!
