Ok, well I wanted the Soundblaster Live 5.1 Platiuem because of the Optical Out. My Mini disc player has a optical in sure... I can record from my computer other ways and since I have seen that so many others are having trouble with there soublblasters I might just do that but What do you guys think? I don't wanta spend 200 if I don't have to just to get a nice sound card with optical out maybe I shouldn't worry bout the optical out ??

The Diamond MX300 is cheap and has Optical out I think. It uses the Aureal Vortex2 sound chip which is superior to the Live.

I record onto my MD through a analog source and the sound sounds fine to me.
