I'm trying to figure out whether I want to get the Intel i7 3770 or the 3770K. I'm looking at some benchmarks and the 3770k is only a bit better then non k. Will the 3770k give me better performance at video editing and rendering?

I think that the 3770 non k speeds are pretty good and don't need to be overclocked, doesn't it have a turbo boost feature or something?

Personally I would go for the one that can be overclocked. It's better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Especially with games like planet side 2 coming out soon.

(I am playing the beta right now and trust me even an I7 will need to be overclocked if you don't want to drop below 25-30 fps in the most intense situations where every frame counts)

yes but with video editing/rendering using all the core it will be limited to 200mhz. Overclocking, with a decent cooler, would get you 4.3 - 4.5ghz and finish your videos much quicker.

Of course the i7-2600k can be pushed to these same speeds or more with about the same results and produce less heat doing it. I don't know if that saves you any money or not...
