I've just upgraded my old pc (Core 2 duo E8400, 8gb RAM, XFX HD 4870 1gb, 700w PSU and intel DG35EC MOBO) to this (i5 3450 8gb DDR3 1333mhz, GTX 560 TI and P8H61-LE MOBO) but, as i read in the asus website, the p8h61 must be updated to the latest bios to be compatible with the i5 3450. Anyway, does the mobo come flashed in the latest version? If not, I'm going to update with the EZ FLASH 2 method but at least I need the PC to boot to the bios. Will it?

PS: The components arrive tomorrow.

You need a sandy bridge to boot the H61 and then update to the latest BIOS and then boot again with ivy bridge. So, in short you need a sandy and one ivy.
in some motherboards BIOS is already updated. You might be lucky, but they are very rare!

While it is possible that the board you get may have the latest updated Bios it is much more likely that it won't. If the board does have the latest Bios the best advice that I can give you is go to a local repair shop and see if they have a 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor on hand and if they would update the Bios for you. Or you could simply get a B75, H77, Z75 or Z77 chipset based board from the beginning that will support your processor.

ASUS is usually good at bios updates so there is chance that your mobo will be updated to the latest bios(atleast mine was).
or else you can just borrow a cheap g620 to flash the bios or as intelenthusias said go to a local repair shop.

I've bought it 4 months after the update. Any chance? And at least can I boot into the BIOS? I have the update in my pen drive. Thanks for your answers!
