More about first build final advise purchase
  1. Don't include unnecessary accessories (headphones, speakers, anti-virus programs) in the cost of your build - put that back in the hardware and upgrade your CPU and motherboard to Ivy Bridge, you can always get that stuff later. What's your max budget? I can probably suggest a better build that can max out the best hardware you can get for your money. Get the accessories later.
  2. This comes out to $1300 and some change. My original budget was $1000. I want to include the accessories because I don't want to wait until "later on down the road" . I want to get everything all at once. I am wide open to suggestions as long as it doesn't go over $1300 and I can keep all oft components (mouse keyboard monitor etc...) I don't know much about ivy/ sandy bridges and all that. So I'm open to different setups.
  3. If you don't plan to CF/SLI, get a 550W OCZ ZS PSU. Everything else looks great IMO!
  4. Okay! Will do.
Any other suggestions or different builds? I am buying this afternoon.
  5. Would it be possible to game on my 37" LCD ?

How much did the build in your sig run you?

Good question - my original build in 2009 was around $1200 and I've been upgrading it incrementally. I didn't buy it all at once, it's been a work in progress over the last year and a half and I used my tax refund that I got for the video card and CPU. At current pricing I'm estimating that it's somewhere between a $1200 - $1500 build. :ouch:

That's not including my monitor / TV - that would put it over $2K. :ouch:
  8. What would you such as far as an ivy bridge setup?

I've scraped the anti virus, speakers, and monitor. So the total is down to $1200 , I want to try and keep the price around there give or take a few bucks.

Is it hard to game on your tv? I'm thinking about using my 37" for playing games on.
