When it comes to laptops it's going to be a struggle between the game settings and the resolution. Naturally if you want to play at max settings and high resolutions your not going to be happy with games like Metro ,BF3 ,Crysis 2 and MW 3 because they even put a strain on a desktop. But you can play those games if you just find the optimal settings that you Laptop can handle. If you can get 30 fps on a game then it is playable and if you go below that then you start to have issues so the thing to do is to get the 30fps or better at med to high settings and a good resolution and the games become very playable. There are of course a lot of games that you will have no trouble with and you can even max those games out.
So you will be able to play the top games and you just have to find the sweet spot for the settings.
