Current PC games on PS3

Hello,
I am currently in the dilemma of owning an outdated computer, along with a copy of the new Tera Online mmo that just came out. My computer has been chugging along alright on min requirements so far, but it's finally kicked the bucket as far as current gaming is concerned.

I have heard that PS3 can be modded with Linux OS's to play PC games, but I don't know if that would be enough to play current pc games. Does anyone know if a PS3 can handle a current, graphics heavy game like Terra if I get linux on it?

No it cant. Gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a PC.

PS3 processing and PC processing is very different. The brute force (number of cores) attempt won't bode well on linux, where gaming was never it's forte to begin with.
