Hello,
Vista was totally clobbered! Decided to upgrade to Win7-Pro. Everything works, except for wireless. It's an Atheros (ath5k) chip. MS gave up trying to fix this problem. Radio is seen by software when wireless is turned on or off by slider switch. Wireless turns off with software command. but no connection with network communication. Control panel doesn't see any problem. Anyone know how to tweak this to make the wireless actually work?

The on off switch is broken, It has a spring in the slider that goes bad. the only thing you can do to make it work is to open it up to expose the switch, remove the slider cover, shave of the top with a razor blade, and you'll see six contacts.
but really only six make a connection, after you shave the plastic of the top of the switch, solder the two contact pairs to the next contact pairs to the direction that would be on. each pair are cross connected being the same. Your wifi will always be on from then on, Just did this today.
