I copied some polyphonic ringtones from my new Nokia 7200 to my older
6100, but they won't play on that phone. I had expected the MIDI
format to be the same for all Nokia phones, but maybe it isn't. Should
I expect these to work, and if not, is there anything I can do to
convert them? I tried processing them with Nokia Sound Converter, but
they still don't play.

Each phone model varies in the size of midi files they can play, the
polyphony levels (some are 4, som 16 etc) and in which instruments
they can recognise. I use PolyPhonix from
http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/products.php?id=52 and it is
excellent, as it has the different profiles for each model of Nokia
phone and so will edit the midi file accordingly.
