Hello everyone,

We are considering the options for the parts needed to build a gaming PC and had more or less decided on the following as a reasonably priced option:

CPU: I7 2006K or I7 3770K (do not like what we are hearing about ivybridge temperature problem)
MB: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-D3H or ASUS P8Z77-V

However on l cannot help thinking that an X79 set up for an extra £50 ($80) would be a bit more future proof and robust system allowing for up to three graphics cards at PCI X16.

CPU: I7 3820
MB: MSI-X79A-GD45

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards

For gaming, get an i5-2500k over the i7.

Like Azeem40 Said, Theres No reason to go with The I7, the I5 Already Gives you Everything you Can Get For Gaming. Theres No Future Proof in Gaming Pc. I always sell my rig every 2 years.

Thanks guys, any thoughts on sandy or ivy? I'm concerned about the reports about ivybridge overheating.
