I know my motherboard is out of date and has the lack of support of ddr3 and new gen CPU's so I will have to upgrade sometime soon, SO I was thinking of just upgrading my MOBO, RAM and CPU.
Currently I'm thinking of getting a AMD FX 4170 (Due to good price and high benchmarks) and Asus M5A78L-M USB 3.0 Motherboard with ddr3 RAM.
Question: Would this upgrade be good enough. I only use my PC for multitasking/graphic design/browsing etc and MAYBE Gaming in the future.
Is this too much of a leap or could I tone down the upgrade or is it ok?
well then better go with fx 4100 and gskill ripjaws x 4gb 1600 mhz and asus m5a970 mobo and gts 450 and corsair 650w psu good for mutitasking dont go with i3 and i5 if you have tight budget better go with amd low price and better cores fx 4100 have 4 cores + gskill ram have heatsink plus so high end pc affordable at cheap price
Actually.. thanks for that link. by the looks of it, the 4100 doesn't have much of a difference other than slightly higher core frequency.
BUT, cpu benchmark does score the 4170 slightly higher than the 4100 ... hmmm...
