Hi guys,

I got this fan today but when I was about to connect it I noticed it had a 3pin (the one my old fan had connected to the mobo), but also has a 4 pin powersupply socket (with only 2 pins in it).

Do I connect both of these or just one or the other?

One or the other. (The power supply plug will run at full speed 24/7 when computer is powered up.)

I have 2x 120mm fans plugged into the motherboard now, with the 3 pin connecters.

The rear exhaust fan is showing running at 1260 RPM.
The front intake fan is showing running at 720 RPM.

I have disabled all fan control stuff in the bios.

Any idea why the front intake fan is going so much slower?
They are the exact same brand fans and plugged into:
SysFan1 and SysFan2 on the bios.

It could be something with the MB and the voltage it's sending the fans, The intake/exhaust environment of each of the fans, (Cloged filter, or other factors that effect the air on either side of the fan), Or variations in the fans themselves. (maunfacturing tolerance differnces)

If I had to guess, I would think it's either the MB voltage or fan location. (environment)

You could try sitching the two fan locations and see if the "slow" fan is still slow in the other loacation and vice versa) just to make sure it's not the fans.

Ok it seems it's normal for gigabyte boards and system 2 fans, apparently it doesnt let out more than 5 volts or something so the speeds will always be slower.
