its a nice build i can probably tweak some stuff around to make it cost less but i need to know if USA, CA, etc
  4. thanks, i live in Australia and i will be buying from my local store, prices are almost identical on the sites i posted.

according to my comparison, cases and PSUs are generally more expensive here and high end GPUs are also more expensive
  5. not much i can do for the MOBO it is really nice reason why its not as popular is because it doesn't let people have the SLI/CF option since it has only 1x3.0 slot

the Case you put up there has a lot of space and a nice cooling solution with the fans inside you can make it cheaper but that is if you desperate to save money

i would go for Seagate to save some extra
    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=210_344&products_id=19747
what i am trying to do is actually add an SSD inside for boot up

everything is fine 500 watts is enough for a no sli/cf config

if anything add an SSD for faster boot but that is just optional 2
  6. thanks for the advices.

I was considering buying Seagate but i heard people saying their new 7200.14 drives have higher noise than previous generation, how is caviar blue?

I will consider buying a SSD for boot drive and for several programs
  7. either one works really if you are getting a SSD you might as well go a bit cheaper on the HDD since loading will mostly be from SSD

if you want less noise for more money you can that is all you

SSD the least i GB i would say is 60-64 GB just for boot up

if you want apps inside i would say 120-128GB SSD a bit more pricey though
  8. thanks for the help, i have decided to go for a caviar blue and a SSD.

I'm looking at intel 520, crucial m4 and ozc vertex 4, any suggestions?

one followed up question, would SRT be a better option?

m4 is very reliable you just have to upgrade its firmware to get better performance

intel 520 has very very good speed and reliability but it is very pricey compared to m4

ozc 4 is the newest, i am not very familiar with their new Indilinx driver but right now it is very cheap, cheaper than m4 currently
