590 Artifacts

I updated to last driver a few weeks ago and noticed random crashes, but since they were once in a few days I just ignored it..but it still persists after 2-3 weeks.(Update-to-date driver)
And now I'm starting to get artifacts in firefox(when moving page up-down)

What could of caused this, how to fix?

Not an option.I don't live in the USA and I'd just get a new video card with the RMA costs.

to rule out drivers you can try 1 or 2 versions back, but if it still does it, you need to replace the card.

You may be able to underclock the card a bit to regain stability at the cost of some performance.

But what could cause this? My graphic card performed so well till now.

For like 6 months.

Defect. It happens. Most times its a bad chip of memory.

If you turn off hardware acceleration in FF it will not happen, but only because the card is not in use.

But after 6 months.. :/ I was so happy with the card and the..artefact.

Yes, i have seem that happen.

It sucks i know.

First try the older drivers to see if it helps. I had some interesting in game artifacts due to driver bugs.

Ok, but I only notice them in firefox, no where else..like games or just desktop.

Couldn't it be related to the firefox update that happend a few hours ago?

Hardware fail, sometime a lot faster than we'd like. My previous laptop's GPU's RAM started failing a while ago. The only way to get it to be stable was to UC from 650 mhz to 50, and that would've made it slower than DDR3 1066 mhz and kneecap graphic performance.

The entire laptop had to be replaced because the GPU was built into the motherboard. Inconvenient, but there were no other options.


RMA ASAP if replacing the drivers don't work. The faster, the better the chance you will get a RMA instead of a rejection letter.

As stated, RMA to USA would be way too expensive.(I believe they don't have any nearby RMA centers(Romania-Europe)

Anyways, I just installed old driver and restarted PC.It seems fine for now.

Keep an eye on it. If you game, you will find out quick if the issue is in fact gone.

Gigabyte.I am now for a few hours artifact-free, i'l test in BF3 tomorow.
