Install monitor resolution

Hello,
we just set up a new ViewSonic 1080p full hd monitor and a Dell Inspiron 620 desktop. The display settings all appear right however the image is too big for the screen; you cannot see the corners of the screen, only the very top of the taskbar on the bottom, etc. Help please!

Right click on the desktop -> screen resolution. Choose 1920x1080.
