$1000 - $1500 Gaming Rig

Need advice on a new gaming build. I play current MMO's: Tera, SWTOR, and will play Guild Wars and then World of Darkness from CCP when its released. I would also like to play Battlefield 3 and other shooters. I hate jaggies so I would like to turn up the eye candy.

Replacing a Core 2 E8400, 4gb Ram, ATI HD 5870.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next two weeks.

Budget Range: (1000-1500)

System Usage: Gaming

Parts Not Required: (e.g.: keyboard, mouse, Monitor?, speakers, OS) I would like to re-use powersupply Thermaltake Toughpower W0133RU 1200W ATX12V / EPS12V if possible. Not sure if that is possible with new motherboards. I am currently using a SyncMaster 245BW running 1920 x 1200. Does this need to be upgraded to meet todays standards?

Current parts:
Power Supply

Preferred Website(s) for

Country: US

Parts Preferences: Intel Processor, 16gb Ram. (A sold state drive. Not sure how big I need or how many. I currently have 1TB Seagate drive.)

Overclocking: Maybe but I do not have experience with it.

SLI or Crossfire: If needed

Monitor Resolution: I am currently using a SyncMaster 245BW running 1920 x 1200. Seems like a nice monitor but maybe I just don't know what I am missing. I would not want anything over 27/28 inches.

Additional Comments: I desperately need help matching parts so I have a balanced gaming machine. I grab a new I5 Ivy Bridge and GTX 670 but I don’t know if that’s the most cost effective route with the budget I have and would need help picking the correct motherboard and ram for my needs. I will not be running any raid configurations and I do not have any plans to run three monitors as of today, sure it would be great but I don’t think my budget would allow it.

Thank you for your help.

Capacitors on psu's wear out with time. That and it might be time to look for a more efficient and up to date psu.
