Putting a xeon quad processor in an alienware motherboard.

Hello,i have a very hard (to me) cpu question.i bought an alienware desktop from someone for very cheap,the only thing missing was the cpu,i looked up the motherboard and it says it accepts core i7 processors socket 1366.now i have an option to purchase a xeon quadcore 1366 socket quadcore processor.my question is will it fit since its the same socket type?.if anyone could let me know that would be great!,thanks alot in advance.
 
What Mobo is it?
best option is to google 'XXX mobo model Cpu support list'
and find what you can there, if the exact Cpu isn't listed there, check the bios updates to see if a revision allows for that chip,
and remember your mobos tdp limit may also be a factor, 95w boards won't usually support 125w chips
