Hello,
I want to upgrade from my Athlon II x3 455 to a Phenom x4 965 but my motherboard only supports up to 95watts.. and this CPU is 125watts, is it still possible to run with my motherboard and overclock it? any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Nope. Not gonna work. You have to stay within the design limits.

ok so the only way around it is to get a new motherboard which also supports phenom II x4 965 and up to 125watts..?

Correct
Here's a good one that doesn't cost too much. I recommend it all the time and people are always happy with its features and value:
GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3

I live in UK so its a bit less in GBP but what about my RAM? i have 8GB in this one and im worried that its not going to be compatable with that motherboard?

A much better buy right now is the Asus M5A97 EVO. It has lots more ports, and is much more feature rich than the plain vanilla M5A97. For the extra 25 or so, it is well worth the price.

What type of ram do you have? If it's DDR3, you're good to go. If it's DDR2, you'll have to get new ram as well.

I don't know if your ram is compatible because you haven't yet told me what model ram you currently have installed
