Bottlenecking?

I´ve recently acquired a hd 6850 sapphire, the problem is that playing AC revelations and others the gpu load don´t exceed the 38% so i´m getting less fps than what is supposed, i have an athlon x3 440 stock, 2gb ddr2 800mhz, psu is an ocz modsxtream pro 500w and playing at 1280x1024. I´m wondering if my cpu is bottle-necking the card (i´ve red that it shouldn´t) or if is just the resolution that is too low and what can i do about it? thanks

It is the resolution the HD6850 is a powerful card at 1280 x 1024! IF that is the native resolution of your monitor then the only thing you can do is upgrade it to a new one!

what resolution would be more suitable to this card, hoping that i could play everything on high/ultra with some filters and get good fps in the majority of the games out there?

It handles most well at 1920 x 1080 but is really strong at 1680 x 1050!

ok, so that resolution won´t hold back my card? i´m getting problems finding a good monitor at that resolution most are at 1600x900, that would do it?

Try OCing you cpu slightly and see if fps improve.

You could just ignore it. You have more GPU than your system can use, but when you upgrade your CPU or Monitor, you'll find it'll be used more.

1600x900 is more of a common resolution today. 1680x1050 (16:10) was more popular several years ago.

ok 1600x900 is a monitor that i can get, thanks for your help guys, i´m not planning upgrading my cpu just for now hope that the monitor will improve that.
