I dont get how graphics card are better than each other, obviously talking about the current range.
Like a GTX 560Ti compared to GTX570, i have always been told that its not about the size of the memory but more importantly, the GPU clock speed.

The 560 has~ 850Mhz

While the 570 has ~800Mhz

Sure their memory size is not thesame, only around a quarter of a gig. Theres the shader and CUDA cores too but surely these dont make the biggest difference :S

Any one care to explain to make it clear for me?
Thanks in advanced

(PS. How do i put a link so it goes blue so you can just click on it without needing to copy it out to the address bar? thanks)

Actually the number of CUDA cores is very important if not the most important thing to the performance of the graphic card. That is how a ~730MHz GTX 570 with 480 cores beats a ~850MHz GTX 560 with 336 cores.

The number of CUDA cores is almost always the defining point in powerful cards. Rarely
will you see a card with less cores outstripping one with a higher amount of cores. Take this for example, here are 2 cards.

notice the difference? the first card has 448 cores, while the second card has 384. The 560ti 448 core surpasses the performance of the 560ti 384 by 10-20% in many cases. In fact the 560ti 448 is just a toned down 570 (32 less cores) but it still fails to match the 570, even with a difference of only 32 cores. Normally when looking at graphics cards, look first at the number of Cuda cores, the higher the cores, the better overall performance :)

Edit: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=852271&CatId=3669 look at the speed on this thing, its at 800mhz, yet it does not come close to the performance of the 560 as it has a pathetic 48 cores.

I think it might be because you put brackets directly around it :)
