Hi! I am looking for a solution to a read/write error on the external Toshiba 500 GB Hard Disk. i have not been able to access it. Actually, I need to destroy all the data there and store new one.

You should check the hard drive for errors first. In explorer right click on the drive, goto properties / tools and run the error checking. It sounds like the HDD is faulty somehow. If you want do delete the old data anyway you can go to disk management and format the drive, but do a full format, not a quick one. It takes longer, but will tell you if the drive has a problem with bad sectors.
