Problems with new pc hardware upgrade

Hello,

I just upgraded my pc, bought a new motherboard (gigabyte motherboard ub3), nvidia gefore gtx 580, 16gig of ram dd3. psu (770v).

Now everytime i play games i seem to be experiencing a lot of stuttering, sometimes the games even crash, this has happened with arkim city, witcher 2 and rage.

Can someone tell me what the problem could be? Should I format and reinstall windows? could that be the problem ?
