Hi everyone!

1st ever post so please bear with me I have tried searching for an answer an couldnt quite find the right one.

I have just bought a new desktop which i use for everyday tasks aswell as gaming. I only really play games like Fm12 & SC2 at the moment but would like to be able to play games like crysis 2 & bf3 on high not ultra @ 1080p single monitor.

Current spec

i5 2500k
4GB kingston ram
Asrock H61m-vs
Win 7 64bit
1 TB Hitachi HDD

I know i cannot overclock on my mobo & that doesnt bother me yet. At the moment PC still new OC would void warranty and i dont think i really need to. One day I'll pick up a z68 when the need arises.

So I am looking at getting a HD 6970 or HD 6870(bit over my budget at the moment) and wondering if it would be suitable for 1080p gaming single monitor with high or max settings at least 30fps in DX11. As i need a power supply as well i dont want to spend more than £150 MAX for card & psu.

any help greatly appreciated!

do you want a bigger psu for future upgrades and a bottom of the line gpu or something in the middle?

Go for 6870, at least. A good 500W unit will be plenty.
