Heat & silent box to HD

Has anybody used a silent box with IBM 60 GXP hard disk?

Can I use a silent box and a IBM 60 GXP 60GB without destroying the disk because of the heat? Or can silent boxes only be used with a HD less than 7200 rpm?

According to the stats here, it can handle a three platter IBM 75GXP. Given that a 60GXP has 20Gb per platter (runs cooler) and its revolution rate is 7200rpm (as per recommended max speed for silent drives here, it should be fine.

I hope so cos I plan to put three of these drives with enclosures into my new system.

Thanks for the link - Nice review of silentDrive.

I've just checked the 60GXP specs. and it says it runs at 6.7 watt idle and between 5-55 C so it should work just fine.

Thanks again
