3x 3pin case fans controlled by 1 PWM Mobo header?

I need someone with experience with PWM fans. I have a ton of parts and adapters. My goal is to make something out of the junk to allow me to plug the 3x 3pin case fans of an old case into the PWM header on a new mobo and allow the mobo to control them. I also want to power the fans from the PSU not the mobos fan header.

I have a pwm fan controller on hand that I want to modify. It currently has the ability to allow 1 3 pin fan to be managed and powered by the pwm header on the mobo.

Take a look at my drawing and let me know if you think this will work.
Once again the goal here is to make something that will work without buying anything.

Thanks for the help!

Update. Just in case anyone can use this info.
I modded the pwm fan controller to power off the PSU rather than the board and spliced in 6 3pin connectors. It runs great. When the mobo tells the pwm adapter to speed up, all 6 fans speed up.

It keeps the old case with 80 mm fans nice in quite until needed.
