Best graphic card for my computer???

i have a dell optiplex 745 with core2 duo 2.2ghz with 4GB of g,skill ram and 2GB of samsung ram which is 6GB total and 500GB HD running windows 7 ultimate 64bit i currently have installed..

512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400 graphic card.,

i have the small form computer tower so has to be half height graphics and i would like to upgrade to 1GB or 2GB if possible? any ideas of good graphic cards??????

Higher VRAM comes in handy only at higher resolution. i.e, beyond 1920X1080, 2GB is recommended, but below that, 1GB is fine.

first upgrade your processor to a core 2 quad q6660 or something to avoid cpu bottlenecking and then maybe get a hd 6670 for bout 80$

What is your PSU like? If you could read off the Amperage on your 12V, 5V, and 3.3V rails it would be help us determine the best GPU your PSU can handle.

Doesn't matter about what anyone above me said. You need a half height card so your options are severly limited. Anyway I think a 6570 is a bout the best you are going to find but to be honest that is not a bad match for your other components and should offer a significant boost in performance.
